Employment Opportunity Patient Partnership Engagement Lead, London Kidney Network

November 5 2021
Are you passionate about improving the lives of kidney patients? Are you someone who can motivate and inspire others? Are you a natural collaborator and keen listener ready to engage, gather and represent kidney patient views across London?

We are keen to hear from people living in London who are determined to make a difference to kidney patient care.  The successful applicant will ideally be a kidney patient under the care of one of the seven London kidney centres* , or a patient advocate who understands the lived experience of kidney disease or other long terms chronic health conditions. Flexibility around health and other commitments will be supported to enable someone with the right skills to make a success of this part-time role.

The London Kidney Network is a new collaboration of renal clinical providers, commissioners and patients focused on improving quality, reducing unwarranted variation and delivering better outcomes and experience for all kidney patients in the capital.

We are looking for a self-motivated and energised Patient Partnership Engagement Lead to work as part of the London Kidney Network senior team who will develop and lead a patient partnership group. The aim will be to build a sustainable culture that puts the patient at the heart of the London Kidney Network activities and decision making.

The key purpose for this role will be to engage with kidney patients and their families across London. You will represent kidney patients’ experience in collaboration with clinical providers, commissioners and other stakeholder partners to develop improved end to end kidney patient pathways.

We require someone who has excellent communication and leadership skills; who can act independently; and has the ability and confidence to make clear recommendations in complex challenging situations for the benefit of kidney patients. The ability to work with senior stakeholders is essential, alongside a compassionate and inclusive approach to working.

The successful applicant will be supported by the Clinical Lead for Patient Partnership Engagement. Relevant and mandatory training including safeguarding for this role will be provided. An enhanced DBS will be required.

The closing date for applications for this role is November 8th, and interviews will take place on November 23rd.
