Haemodialysis nurse practitioner

The haemodialysis nurse practitioner helps a patient starting on haemodialysis. She is also responsible for ensuring St George's patients receive a good standard of care in satellite units by setting and assessing the sites' performance standards.

Attends all the multi-disciplinary meetings for the 6 dialysis units (3 at St George's and 3 satellites) so that she is aware of any issues with patients and works with the teams to continually improve quality of care. She holds regular nurse led clinics in the satellite units. She representsthe views and needs of patients and nursing staff on projects looking at operational issues and transport.

She is also a good point of contact for patients if unsure who to ask.
